Little Sth Qld Natives

Post by Aaron G »

G'day forum,

Was due for a interstate family visit,
so had to leave God's country to go visit the ghetto that is Ipswich.

But instead of whining like a little bitch... I got out there amongst it,
with a little shimano 2500 sierra with 6LBS line, a hand full of lures, most under 50mm
and a borrowed kayak, I went visiting family and exploring the skinny waters of Ippy, Oakey, and Texas.

Highlight was getting my father in law in the yak, and watching him smack a few nice sized yellow belly (golden perch)

Sure the fish are 1/3 the size of the NT,
but It was an enjoyable little change

Most fish were taken on lures slowly trolled from the kayak,
with a couple of fish taken on live worms, at local Ippy parks with my daughter.

I'm lover of all fish, great and small,
and not matter where in the world,
If there is water, i'm going to wet a line.

Cheers,
Aaron G
