I'm thinking the new net should get me some good Prawns this season. Do many people chase them, Can't beat a fresh feed of prawns on the bbq in garlic butter!
Great Now I'm Hungry!!!!!

I have found the bigger the net the easier it is to throw them i know weird isn't it. Thats a 10 or 11 footter, can't remember what i ended up with? I had a 6 or 7 foot one that found really hard to throw. Got a barra last Saturday in the net and it blew a hole right through the side so will be working on that this weekend to repair that one!!!

me too timbo! def prefer a bigger net for a better spread. i got a 9ftr and 12 ftr. increases your catch to, specially if your going for cherapin or redclaw..
with the bigger nets i do prefer nylon opposed to cotton. the cotton gets bl..dy heavy when wet and after a few throws your buggered. remember to hang the nylon nets tho, prevents them getting springy!!!

Hey Timbo what size net is that, it also begs me to ask another question. Which way do people prefer to cast their net -hip or shoulder. I prefer to throw from the hip (can't wait for the comments on that one)

That's a ripper throw timbo, i watched my mum continuously casts throws like that , i cant throw for sh!t was to hard to learn from her screaming in my ear . She would clean up on prawns at race course creek during the wet, dont mind them myself as juvi's cook them whole on the barbe with sweet chilli, garlic and even a dash of rum. Eat'em whole.

Throw mine off the elbow and prefer cotton to stop the barras ripping them to shreds. Nothing worse then having your net buggered first or second cast. Only problem is the weight when they're wet so I stick to a 10 footer. Popped a rib a couple of years ago throwing the sucker, took a few months for that one to heal up properly
