Well today i achieved a childhood dream. In my younger days i grew up down south chasing freshwater Powertail in lagoons and inland rivers, it was when i read one my old mans modern fishing mags i discovered the monsters that inhabited these northern tropical waters. From that day forth i dreamed and counted the days down till i could do battle with one of these great beast. Sum people may laugh and sum may dream of meter barras or thousand kilo black marlin but me it has always been a meter golden cobbler, as we call them down home.
After waiting all that time, and spending so much coin chaseing them, i smashed my dream meter mark with this 110cm beast .
Please don't get the s...t's , i have only blurred out the back ground as i want keep this honey hole to my self. Wat a great start to 2o10, happy new year .

Congratulations Ponyplay, what a fish, no wonder you blanked out the background. Be hard enough shaking off the followers over the next few months when word gets around.

Great work PP blur the back ground no mention of the secret lure you used, you might have to hang up the rod for the rest of the year that is going to take some topping.

if you want some massive powertail go to the channel point jewie ledge. But instead of finding some good rocky ground find the deepest part of the channel with no rock and drop a massive squid bait it is a lot of fun. My biggest was a 137cm powertail. Ill be sure to catch a big one and put it in my post when i go again in may

Congratulation PonyPlay!!!
Now lets just hope that NT Tourism don't get hold of the photo, or they will make a poster of it and we will have to cope with a lot more grey nomads than in the past... And it will be even more difficult to get peace in a good PT spot...
Ha!
Even international anglers might be coming then!
And we will never have enough chicken and rice to feed them all...

Nice work PP! Isn't it great to realise a dream?! I remember catching a few of those big golden buggers at the mouth of the south on the FFF new years trip a couple of years ago.
I still prefer the silver saltwater versions that pull like jewies!!
