I made a cart for the ride-on mower. I thought I had over-engineered everything, but the hardware store wheel bearings fell apart after a week of towing the kids around the yard for fun.
So I am upgrading the axle stubs and wheels. eBay has 750kg trailer kits, but these are way too big. Even if I just used the stub axles, the wheels would be too big.
ATV stuff is way expensive.
Had a quick look around eBay but could not see anything, just wondered if anyone had made a heavy duty yard cart and if so what did you use for hubs and rims?

Had to stop looking, was getting too interested in the go kart sites ... already have enough distractions.
Have opted for heavier duty "hardware wheels" and a more supportive wheel-retainer setup on the axles.

What about the small wheel barrow type that get used for trailer rollers that the bigger guide boats use?

Yes, I've ordered something like that. Should be OK with a few more washers on the axle, to stop most of the sliding movement.
Will have to take the cart fishing so it is relevant on here

wheel barrow wheels, washers either side on a solid axle, with split pins to secure, easy and cheap

The ones I am thinking of have a proper thrust bearing and hub design. They suit the little 10" wheels that you get on the really tiny boat trailers or cement mixers. I think the wheel hub is an integral piece of the wheel assembly.

Those wheels look the goods. I ended up just pressing out the damaged bearings and welding in tube steel to make sleeve bearings. So nothing can break - except my welding
