Check out each individual state’s requirements. Some allow no rego/no licence for a brief time if you are a legit traveller
Just google it

CharFin wrote:cdunn78, How did you go for a boat licence? Do they recognise that NT people don't require a licence and can not obtain another states licence because they don't live there. (Or do you have a nsw license). I was hoping and fortunately I didn't have to test this on lake Eildon in Vic over christmas.
Charfin, you could probably get one interstate? I got mine in SA in the mid 80's, I was down in Adelaide last week and got a reprint, they had my address as my NT street and PO Box. They know I'm not a local.

Otherwise you will have to settle for a coxswains.....

Hey it aint much fun looking for MOB without a jacket. I've pulled a couple of squishy ones in my time. Take the jackets and wear them, he gas inflates are great and hardly impede the casting action.

Have a safe day.

there can be no argument over the benefits of wearing a PFD. I had a stormy seas one when i lived in Tassie and it acted as a spray/wind jacket as well
But its hot enough wearing a t shirt up here let alone the PFD - even the yoke style ones are hot as

the only people ive ever seen wearing one here are the boys from hook line and sinker and thats an OHS thing
