Ditching the $100 note

Introduce yourself, talk about beer, crocs, headlines, dugongs or Paris Hilton.

Governments want to get rid of cash so they can tax every transaction.

I thought it was due to money laundering by crooks. The yanks dropped the $1000 dollar note for that reason.
Using big denominations kames it easier to hide more in a small space

re tax - its funny how they said the GST would remove the cash economy. it has backfired dramatically. more cash jobs being done now than ever before

They were talking about various names people had for the 100 note on radio down here yesterday. Green backs, crispier etc etc. one guy calls in he calls the Sarah Hansen youngs now. BIG GREENIE THAT WONT BE AROUND MUCH LONGER. Classic, nearly ran off the road.

Crooks are the reason for the big notes being taken out, but governments are pushing the idea of cashless economies. So it's the thin end of the wedge.

They'll have to remove beer cartons too ...
