Decided to head over to Dundee beach on Sunday with the family and neighbours.
Had a lazy start, but were on the water by about 9:30am. It was a bit choppy due to the breeze but not too bad.
Set up the outriggers and went for a troll up the coast.
Managed to hook on to a small Spaniard almost straight away which get everyone on their toes.
Had a couple of other hits but no hook ups.
Headed to the Jew hole for some bottom bashing over the tide change.
The Darwin Hook Cleaning Service was in full effect with baits being consumed on the drop.
There were literally dozens of juvenile trevally and stripeys smashing anything that hit the water.
We persisted though as occassionally something much larger would smash a bait.
Had a hook straightened by something very large after a 10 minute battle (shark). Managed to get a nice cod in to the boat.
Apart from that all we managed to do is fatten up some small fish that we can hopefully catch another day.
Set up for another run up the coast and back. Once again a few hits but nothing in the boat.
Decided to come in at about 2pm to give us enough time to get home and clean up.
The temp ramp worked ok with the rock wall giving some protection but was still a struggle getting the boat on the trailier with the shore break wreaking havoc.
No damage done (except for pride) and mackerel for dinner

Don't be afraid to chuck one of those little trevally on the hook, jewies find them very tasty......
