First time at Dundee

Post by ppete »

Hey folks

Headed off to Dundee for the night on Saturday with the missus and between the beers and lounging by the pool I got out for a quick flick too. Started with a few casts of the popper with only one strike and no hook up, so I changed tactics and had a flick with the chromy and hooked my first Salmon. Put up a good little fight and bit of fun on light gear. I changed over to the plastics and hooked up on another salmon almost immediately, unfortunately before I could grab him he snapped the line. Was fishing the incoming morning tide, keen to make another trip out and explore a bit more with the rod around Dundee.

Cheers
Pete

Take some pillys and float them around or very lightly weight them. Blue salmon should be relativly common there. Crush a hand full of pillys and throw them out from time to time for berley to get them going.

The blue salmon are great fun off the beach all along the coast there

Bigger ones can give a great fight too, good stuff.
If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!

Especially when you can see them!
