Re: Harbour oil spill
Surprised we aren't hearing more of a hullaballoo, heavy industry hasn't even ramped up production in the harbour yet and there's an oil spill already ... http://www.news.com.au/national/norther ... b8b11f322c
Although the story does say it is only 3 litres
Seriously tho, you'd need a white cane if you can't see that slick ... http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-08-20/e ... ed/7769390

My money is on the source is recreational not heavy industry.

Re: Harbour oil spill
There was a bit of a sheen on the water Saturday morning, the tides and winds had dispersed it pretty well by the looks of it. This was heading from Lizzy to East Point. Most of it around the East Arm wharf

I think the EPA were on the radio saying it may be heavy oil (industry) mixed with a dispersant

Yes, the type big ships use. Wonder what big ships were in the harbor that night.
dropped the last of there bilge over the side. Dilute it with detergent to break it down and over she goes.
engineer probably forgot to change the manifold over from the overboard discharge to the sludge tank when entering the harbor.

Re: Harbour oil spill
Well you only have to look at the official sample containers to see how serious it was taken. One has traces of tomato relish and the other Nescafe Blend 43.
