Car security - Leaders or Salt Water Arm?

Post by Petto »

G'day all.

I am looking at doing trip out the mouth of the Adelaide for a couple of nights and am tossing up wether to leave my car at SWA or pay the dollars and leave it at Leaders Creek?

I want to fish the Wiltshires and SWA so it would be easier to leave it at SWA but I have been told there has been a car torched in the past and a few light bars stolen recently?

Is it particularly bad at SWA or is it just the same risk as the rest of the ramps around the place?

Any opinions or recommendations would be appreciated.

Cheers. :drinking8:

I've heard a few stories of SWA, however I've left my car there a few times and been OK touch wood. I dont think its any worse than anywhere else, i just depends on whether the usual villains happen to be out that way i guess. Maybe the state of the road encourages/discourages them.

I often think about leaders, but its no access between 6pm and 6am which is never any good for me. Its such a pity that we even have to think about the risk.

Use Leaders for sure.
sooo many stories about damage/theft at SWA - why risk it for a few $

if you arrange with them, you can get back up to 9 pm.
you can also leave your locked car there outside the gate and put your keys in a pre arranged location (not on the tyre etc) and they will drive it into the compound for you and lock it up

Its just a pity that they dont launch and retrieve for you anymore

Hi Mate leaving it there for a day is a bit different than a couple of nights.

Be safe and use Leaders there are undesirable criminals frequenting the place.
A mans boat is a sign of his strengths and weaknesses???? (and wealth)

Mate use SWA as leaders only park your vehicle leave the keys in it in an paddock they don't lock and you have to go get it anyway as they don't launch or retrieve. They are a waste of money. Old mate Chris's service when he ran it puts this mob to shame. Only my opinion.

the back story to old mate is that he was injured while retrieving/launching a boat and got run over
Now his insurer banned him from retrieving/launching

Good advice. It's what I do for any overnight trips that way
