Under deck storage
Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has pulled out the factory "bins" under their deck in the boat and put a false floor compartment in there?
Im looking to do it on my 445 hornet trophy under the casting deck to allow for more storage as with the life jackets, battery and tackle trays there is no room left for anything else.
I live in Townsville so going to see custom concepts is out of the question, but using what he does as an idea for what to do.
Any help or suggestions of how you have done it are appreciated.
Regards,
Josh

Re: Under deck storage
I had it done at a local boat builder, left it all up to them. It's very common up here, don't people have it done in QLD?

Most of the new boats have it now but mine is 2007 so still got the poly bins in it.
Wanting to see if I can do it myself to save a bit of coin

When I get home this week Ill have a look at it and make up my mind how I can do the job or if I have to take it to an aluminium bloke to get sorted.

Re: Under deck storage
Thanks mate, just had a look and lumbo did an awesome job on his boat. Downside is I dont have a welder or the confidence/ability to weld onto my boat. I was looking to put some plywood down and make it all work from there, if you understand what im saying.theodosius wrote:Look up a post by Lumbo, he did his own a while ago
What im thinking is to lift up the casting deck, remove the poly tubs and foam in the area and see what sort of room I can get in there. If its not possible without major work ill just leave it be and just wait till I buy another boat.

I wouldn't cut anything out if you're not going to weld new bracing

Was only going to cut the floor bracing out if it was going to a fabrication place and get them to do it alltheodosius wrote:I wouldn't cut anything out if you're not going to weld new bracing
