Barra Nationals 2016 results
Comp was held in extreme low water conditions. Several reports of damaged boats.
See the attached picture for the results per day versus the tides.
There were 482 fish caught for the week, with 15 over a metre.
The big fish came on from Day 3, perhaps interestingly, during diminishing tides.

Biggest Barra for the week were three at 116cm - that's right, tied with three anglers!

Just spoke to Jez Johnson, who won the Barra Nats. Great story ... he's not local (lives in Cairns, although has a Territory history), was in a borrowed boat, had no sidescan, and was in a completely different team from last year.

And only his second Nats ...

Last year his team was second, so it doesn't look like just luck. He skippered this year.

Legendary stuff!

He said their strategy was to find the clearest water, and bait. There was very little bait through the whole comp.

I fished with team COSTA this year and have to say the barra nats is the best run tournament I have fished.
A big thank you to all the sponsors and the PGFC for all their hard work couldn't happen with out you guys and girls.
