Time for some gold

Post by Lats »

Having had enough of barra for a while and the freezer stocks really low, it was time to chase a few goldies. On Friday I went with my neighbour and we ended up with 15 fish. 8 or 9 goldies in them, and the rest made up of rock cod and tricky. With a boat of 6 blokes I was happy to catch 10 of them fish and most of the goldies. I might have started with 2 doubles in 2 drops, which included 3 x 45cm goldies and a big tricky 8) 8) Much to everyone else's disgust. And they were the only fish on the boat

Last night I fished wide and far away, and it was hard to find fish. A lot harder than I expected seeing what happened a few days before. Tide was ripping and the swell was on the beam all bl..dy night. But I did manage 1 decent fish. This 71cm goldie

We left our fishing spot at 0130 fearing the big SE winds expected early morning. Just as we were entering the harbour it really blew up against the run in spring tide. So happy we weren't still out fishing

Oh and I cooked meat balls and sausages for my dinner last night and before I left my wife said "your favourite, cock and balls" Just no respect these days

Nice Goldie Lats, pity you couldn't find a few more

Rare to get a loner
If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!

Especially when you can see them!

Nice Goldy mate, well done. I'm hoping to head out for some jigging off Dundee tomorrow. Hopefully the wind stays down
