Hi there, so I am stuck in SA for a while yet....March we start th travels to the West and NT. So now the rig is set up I would like to throw it in off west beach and go and try and catch my first SA snapper. So the big ask....can anyone share a gps point for me to go and have a crack at...I have issue 10 (cant find 11 its in a packed box in storage) and it has no GPS or SA info was hoping one of you might be so kind to PM me a GPS spot or two in the local SA waters to get me out on the water. If successful very happy to share some fillets :):). Cheers in advance.
PS anyone on SA want to catch up for a Coopers drop me PM would be great to meet up with a few fellow FFF members.

Re: Share your SA GPS points with me please
we never bothered with marks really for snapper. we mainly fished the contour lines on the map, depth changes really, fishing mainly at night and often in quite close. a really strong berley trail with the berley pot set about a meter off the bottom, a running sinker on a 1m dropper and make sure your lines are in the berley trail. we used to fish Ardrossan a lot this way and were often less than 3km from the ramp whilst boats screemed past us. very rarely failed to produce fish, and often up to the 10kg mark. it worked out of the St Kilda boat ramp area as well, and I imagine fishing along the edge of the channel out from North Haven would produce the same result

Me and my cuz caught 24lb and 28lb snapper off Brighton jetty, you don't need GPS marks
If was there I'd be fishing for squid and KGs, with my hair gel and ninja gear.

Follow any boat that has whitegoods on it. Uncle tells me how a lot of people make their own private reefs, illegal but widespread and if you can find one of them, happy days...

We used to just drift around with a patanosca rig with squid on. Generally landed a few as the schools went through.
