Are they soft in the top half Jeffish I need one that will load up half way down so as it does not have the leverage on me

Re: WANTED STAND UP STICK
I have an Ugly Stik 5 footer, its model OHD50A, 8-10kg, 60-100gm cast weight. Its caught stacks of monsters, probably just what you need. Paid $120 at Steves about 10 years ago, I googled it but no results. I have the one with chrome guides, my daughter has the one with ceramics. Someone local might have some old stock?

Any short graphite jig stick should be right, they tend to get a nice big bend in them to help get the leverage in your favour. I use 50lb spin gear for bottom bashing but ive got a daiwa monster mesh max that i use a lot and you can pump big jewies straight up to the top no worries with that.

Re: WANTED STAND UP STICK
Cheers fellas and thanks for the offers, ended up buying the cheap but durable Ugky Stick Gold series 5'6" 10-15kg new for $95 with a 10 year warranty and put my old Sweedish Abu 7000 on it with 15kg braid that's about all the hurt this back of mine will handle .
The rod seems to load up well and work right through to the but
Just got to cut the gimble fitting off to shorten it by a couple of inches .There goes the warranty but at that price it's not a concern

It won't let you down shags I run with them before I got the Venoms
And still have em set up for a back up rods . Bullet proof and a good
price , think I paid about the same 10years ago.
Why are you cutting the Butt down ? Mate I hear you about the bad back
Start using a gimble belt , Get the Velcro type easy to get on and off .
If you chop it down it's going to lesson your leverage .

Re: WANTED STAND UP STICK
Cheers Jeffish
I'm a bit short in the arm length Jeffish and hand is sitting too close to the reel for my liking
I like my hand to sit closer to the the top of the fore grip to put the fulcrum point out closer to the fish with a little bend in the ellbow instead of a straight arm
Just my preference mate I was building rod for years when I was younger I might start doing them again now I'm retired and have time
