Hey guys I am fixing up an older rod of mine, the varnish was cracking and the guide feet were starting to rust and split from the rod. I have stripped it back and begun binding the guides back on. My questions are:
Should I use a clear epoxy arlidite to glue the feet?
Should I use a clear fiberglass resin to coat the rod after?
Or should I use a polyurethane type varnish to seal the rod?
Progress pic.

Re: Hello rod builders
Hey Dannett,
no need for araldite. I would use Jack Erskine brand two pack epoxy resin to coat the bindings after using a suitable thread sealer.. You can use the two pack resin to coat the rod as well but I have found it best just to leave it bare.
Cheers

Thanks Swoffa. I'll go and see Fishing and Outdoor world for some thread sealer and the epoxy.
