Hi, what's the best time of the year to plan a trip to shady to fish the run off next year

A hard question to answer but first we need heaps of rain. All tides work, you just fish different areas on springs then when fishing the neaps. But monsoon rain is the key

I've never fished the run off before, I've always fished the build up in the gulf.
Is the style of fishing similar or completely different

the ways of catching the fish stay similar all year round. (you are still after the same species of fish)
its more so that during run off you can encounter sessions where you just catch heaps more.
but biggest factor is the amount of rain that falls.

for run off ideally you would like to rock up about a week after we have had a couple of weeks of sustained rain.
as the rivers are starting to drop back into their banks.

to early, and still too much water for them to hide in. or the river will still be filling up (running the wrong way)
you dont want this as is very tough during these periods.

generl rule march/april are the run off months.
