the season so far

Post by cuddlescooper »

Heres a collage of a few trips. It has been a slower year on the big fish for me due to working most of the good tides. We have still found a few fish. Most have been from relatively close to home and the odd trip to the Daly. Seems to be a lot more 70 to 80cm fish around this year then last which is encouraging.
Most Recent trip. Hard fishing but got a few

A couple of slightly better fish on another trip

Double headers at Dundee. One of the better trout.

It has been one of the best years fishing Darwin harbour for barra and salmon that I have had landing barra to 80cm and many 70cm fish with some better than runoff sessions.

Great catches! Your average size for the harbour seems a lot bigger than mine- 57cm seems to be the usual size.

As per usual, some great fish mate. I don't give the harbour as much attention as I should

Hi Theo, I wouldn't say my average size was much different. I get lots of smaller just legal fish as well but stumbled on a patch of better fish early in the year. This one particular area had some numbers of 70cm fish and the odd 80cm baz as well. In general though I get lots of 55 to 60cm fish.

yes I was unlucky that work has been slow and all of a sudden comp rounds come up and work became available so had no choice but take it. Was lucky however to jag a few fish at the right time last weekend. Just wish I had one more day at the Shady round as I found the fish but wasn't good enough to keep them on the hooks on the day. Gonna struggle to get near kai and moony now only fishing 4 of the 6 rounds but will try.

Hard place to learn but plenty of close to home options for a quick feed once you learn it.

Hey Jeff. Some seasons out the front there you get huge schools of blue salmon. They only seem to come in numbers every 4 or so years from memory. funny how they work. The threadys in the harbor were busy early on.

Some great fish there Pete

Well done
If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!

Especially when you can see them!
