Mandorah Jetty

Post by Edo »

Hi,
Went to Mandorah jetty after our Anzac day services on saturday arvo, thought we arrived on a good tide(was within the hour of the tide change to run in) but couldnt get any livies. No matter how long we jigged we couldnt get any on our bait jigs, local bloke turned up and couldnt get any with his cast net either so we fished with squid with no result, floated baits, sunk baits but still nothing.young fella thought he was on but what ever it was it spat the hook pretty quickly or the hook was to big for its mouth. Not much action with the other anglers either. Will be back to try again when we get the time.

Try lures next time as well, lots of queenies and trevally over that way to take a chrome slice, might even fluke a mackie. Surface lures can be fun and flicl around rocly outcrops for barra.
Or just throw out a large bait on some trace and have fun with the sharks

Noticed the same thing with the bait at mandorah, jigged live bait up for hours just taking one at a time as needed because there were so many we didn't see a point keeping them in a bucket. All of a sudden like a light switch they wouldn't touch the jig, could still see them there as plentiful as ever but no matter what we tried couldn't get a single one! Lesson learned, will bring a bucket next time!
