5.3 plate alloy with 90HP and all the good stuff

Post by sanigav »

It's actually with a bit of sadness that I'm selling the 'crimson tide' but I'm looking for a boat with a cabin.

This boat has no expense spared and has everything you need to fish for barra or the blue water. Huge beam makes for heaps of space and versatility. Extremely safe boat built for the conditions up here.

2011 90HP Honda - 400hrs stainless prop with spare
8hp Honda 4 stroke aux. engine - 5 hours
24V Minnkota 80lb i pilot with GPS spot lock and huge batteries
Plumbed live bait tank
Huge underfloor storage
100l fuel tank
Dual Battery isolating system
Hydraulic steering
Lowrance HDS 10 with structure scan
Voyager braked dual axle trailer in great condition
Full length bimini
Heavy duty boat cover
Built to survey - with paperwork and schematics
bluetooth stereo
floodlights
all safety gear including GPS Epirb

will knock a thousand off the gumtree price for fellow FFF'ers cos you guys have helped me catch heaps more fish over the years

$32,000

That looks like my new boat. If only the wife had been working a bit earlier. That would be just what we would be after when we do get to buying a boat. That would be great out here on groote.

Sanigav,

Whats the make of that hull ? Was it built in Darwin or elsewhere?

Looks like the old Boab boat, they were all Amara hulls but I think that hull was still the same survey design just built under contract by someone else. If my memory serves me. Not built up here, they are all built down east coast.
Not a bad hull, very similar to my boats, I know the original navel architect, nice guy.
Would be a good boat for up here and a good price.

Good luck with the sale

yeah you fellas don't miss a beat. Its the Amara design, built in Newcastle NSW. It's a really solid boat, and has been certified with positive floation which means that it's unsinkable. Optional bung plugs?! Haha i never tested it out but its packed full of foam, reverse chine and other fancy stuff making it really stable once you anchor up.

the paintwork isn't that pretty from jetty scuffs and branch scratches, but the engine purs and the hydraulic steering make it a pleasure to drive. nice and easy to hose out too with the sealed deck

Can I ask how the 90 goes for a big boat, have a feeling this is probably a lot of people's question?

Well I'm definitely not the fastest boat out there, it cruises at about 50km/h @ 4500rpm. Max speed of about 60. The max hp for the hull is 90hp which was surprising. The good part is the fuel economy. I use about 70 litres on a trip to north gutter and back.
