Harbour snapper

Post by Matt Flynn »

I called the Darwin tackle shops yesterday on the weekly rounds, and noted several good reports of harbour goldies, including big ones.

Included was a somewhat unusual report of big goldies on the shallow reef at Lee Point, good to see.

But if chasing harbour goldies, the best fishing is likely to be at the Six Mile reefs at night. Also the deep reef off Larrakeyah.

There have also been some good harbour mackie reports.

Matt, a weekly report from the tackle shops would be just great.

I did saturday night at Larrakeyah (southern end) for just the one Jack. No goldies, no jewies and very little assorted reef fish. Was daft enough to sleep on the boat and wait for the morning tide, but slept too long and missed the good bit. Quite a few boats out for the big tides, the car park at Dinah was half full saturday night and again in Sunday morning.
