Hi all I went fishing Saturday night after checking willys weather it told me 10 knots max, how wrong that was. I was trying to get out wide but had to seek shelter due to harsh winds and swell. So I motored around in Darwin Harbour looking for spot when I found some small structure in about 16 metres of water with fish showing on the sounder, we pulled up some average size goldies, Rock Cod, Strippies, Loads of different types of sharks also lost some fish to them but the smallest and lightest rod took off baited with squid, the fish ran to the boat anchor rope 3 times and all most spooled us twice and every time it come to the surface it would just take off, it was an awesome fight on light by my friend Em she did a great job, I thought we had no hope of getting it due my fishing rode was in the shaped of the letter U most of time, as soon as I put the net under the fish the hook just fell out also the fish did not survive it gave such a big fight it gave up the ghost it was a shame, cause I had no plans on eating this fishing due to tasting very bad LOL no good to eat . I took the photo of the fish lying next to the rode but I put the wrong down for the photo its a Combo Shimano 5-8kg with a sedona 4000FD
I think its a mother in-law fish LOL.
