Harbour fish today

Post by steve29 »

Finally got to get out this morning it was a beautiful morning out there with me partner first time for her out in the harbor so i was hoping to finally catch our first fish since moving here and to try out the new Lowrance gps combo well gps worked great and the fish finder didnt find nothing or i have not got it set up right have no idea. Anyway as for the fishing well ee did ok it was flat out for a good 4 hours i recon caught alot of ugly big eye looking things and then finally caught my self a 53cm goldy i was rapped put up a good fight to that was me first fish for about time i recon and we ended up with 3 goldys and a cod so it was a great day out there with the misses she had a ball even tho she only caught big eyed fish she still had a ball. Can not wait to get out there again and see if i can find the fish or find someone to set me gps combo up cheers

Cracker mate , good size goldie for the harbour
If your pulling a lot of the bug eyes (Papuan something??)
You most likely just off the reef on the mud try to get up on
the front edge of the reef .
They look like this?

Might have crank up the sensitivity , But the don't always
show fish arches like in demo mode , just look for good
colour and structure mate.

Yeah itd be pretty uncommon for me to anchor on spots actually showing fish on the sounder, usually anchor on stuff like bare hard ground, rubbly bottom, ledges and the up-current edges of reefs.Seems to work pretty well.
