ha ha. A mate of mine who was there when it was caught, confirmed today that the catch of the day you are referring to was the same fish as the "130cm jess fish" that is getting around from the "daly". That was her boyfriend in the second catch of the day entry. This time the guy said it was caught at marrakai. He also said it was 130cm. So the same fish is entered into the catch of the day twice claiming it was caught at separate spots. Even though the trees in the background are the same. ha ha, how stupid are Channel nine!

And the fish wasn't caught by either of these two people who entered it in these comps. I met a bloke last weekend at the spot that the fish was really caught at, he works with the guy who actually caught it. He said that the guy who caught the fish was "darren". Apparently he didn't even know this couple who have now both posted the photo of the fish claiming it. he just met them down there on the day. Apparently Darren works overseas. Anyway, I don't know if the latter of this info is accurate but at least we know the Sheila didn't catch it, despite her interview on Tales from the tinny. Here i took a photo last weekend at the spot

Funny you say that. My first barra session ever was land based, in 2011, and my mate caught a 137cm barra.

I was not aware how rare this was at the time... since I'm not fishing this weekend, I might do the write up & photos and add it to my thread

Wow!, so i was down the the howard River Iron bridge the other day fishing and I saw this stonker barra caught. I went to inspect and met the old mate who caught it. What a fish!, it was 146cm caught in a fly rod. The guy who caught it said he didn't want to tell anyone about it as apparently he might be recognised. Anyway, I got this snap!
