My 101cm Barra?
After 5 years fishing in the territory, finally bagged my first metery, or so I thought. It measured 101 on the brag mat. For some reason, I run a tape measure over the mat when I got home, and lo and behold, the mat is 20mm out. As in 100cm on the mat is 98cm in real life, so my fish in real life was between 99 and 100. Im feeling a little bit ripped off right now, catching a meter barra is my Mt Everest moment.

Rot your socks!!
Same thing happened to a good mate of mine a couple of years ago 101 became 99. He still claims it but as I tell him "your only cheating yourself", he tells me where to go, we have a beer and plan our next trip.
Good reason to get back out there this weekend.....another mate got a nice 104 from the Daly a couple of days ago...few nice fish around apparently, if you work for them ...

Thanks Barnzy. Dont get me wrong, Im pretty stoked with the fish. Had an all time session, landed about 20+ fish between 80 and 100, and a heap in the 70's. Dropped about the same amount too.

Awesome fish mate. No point in taking them back as most of them are out. I also believe they are affected by heat. Call it a 101cm and be done with it I say

Yeah I had to throw my mat out. 103 was actually 100.

Re: My 101cm Barra?
Hi there,
I would call it a 101, without question.
Who told you that that the second tape me sure was correct anyway?
And Craig, please don't run a tap me sure on your brag mat...
Have a good day,
Pecheur

Wouldn't be too worried, it's a solid fish and one to be proud of. In reality the difference between a 99cm fish and a 101cm fish is nothing more than a number, I'd be gobsmacked if anyone could tell the difference without a tape measure in their hand.
Either way, well done!

Re: My 101cm Barra?
I know the feeling , got one that went the meter on the table at the barrage on fly and couldn't revive it so put it in the esky
By the time we got home and took a pic it was only 98 the cold ice must have shrunk it

Can't totally divulge the location, ( I'm heading there again tomorrow ), but, I live in Katherine, and it's a few hours by car, then another few hours by boat ( in my 60hp ). Shouldn't take Sherlock Holmes to work out where.
