Perfect conditions @ Vernons sat night

Well took some fifo boys and a lad who's just got a boat from work out for a fish last night, headed to leaders creek with 2 boats. Got there a bit earlier than other boat so had a troll at mouth for a bit until others turned up, with no success.

It was around 6pm by the time others rocked up so we headed out towards vernons.... and it was a bl..dy ruff trip, wind was howling, choppy, not fun at all but I was confident storm would pass and we would be right.

Got to a spot and dropped anchor, lines in, BANG!!! Fish on as soon as we hit the bottom . Smiles all rnd from boys who hadnt fished liked this before always good to see the excitement of others getting there first fish. Goldies were 35-50cm and jewies where 80-90cm. Was surprised that sharks left us alone only couple of reefies, by 8pm it was a glass off not a breathe of wind perfect conditions, stayed out for a while sunk a few cold ones and headed home with our bag limits. Was great night out, glad I made the choice to give it a crack with the weather being the way it has been.

That is a sign of how bad the wet season has been. Usually at this time of year all you can catch there is Powertail.

Nice effort on braving conditions.
