Culvert HELP :)

Post by amosguido »

Any tips on Culverts? I dragged my girlfriend out from Palmo to Shady and nothing ;( Scott's didn't have enough water and didn't notice any others along Arnhem and Shady was crowded with Landbased fishos but no luck for anyone (got to Shady about 1630 on Monday). I even got so desperate that I stopped at Palmo lakes and Gunn lakes but too many weeds on surface. I'm ITCHING!! I also noticed a sign on the way in to Shady- "Mistake Billabong" I think..... Is that anything to bother with? I'm restricted to LB and don't mind going for a drive.... ;)

Cheers guys

Elizabeth valley road culvert. Left after Noonie tavern on the Stuart hwy. Scotts creek is not just the highway creek. Djukbinj? turnoff is a few k,s before corobboree tavern on the left. Follow it down the dirt roughly 5ks to the crossing. Beware big croc/s. There are a lot more culverts past the shady turnoff towards Jabiru and Cooinda. Did i say look out for crocs? Be prepared to put some miles on the clock and dont be too dissapointed if you dont do any good the 1st time. :drinking8:

Girraween road has a couple as well. Just past the school the road dog legs to the right and becomes Angelsy rd. Take a left at the dog leg to continue on girraween rd and theres a culvert a couple of k,s down there as well.

Think I'll be keeping a eye on this thread also. Keen to catch a barra from the culverts.

You definitely need to do some long distance travel to beat the main crowds! If you go all the way to Jabiru then travel down the Kakadu highway there's a couple of good spots out there and also the road to cahills crossing. A bit closer to home there is the bridges along the cox peninsula rd

Just a little bores so off for some exploring. Looking at just a cruise down marrakai road. Even though even it not the "best" fishing time at least I'll have a idea for what and if for the more appropriate time.
