Re: OptiMax 200 advice
Been runnin a 150 opti for a couple of years now, has its ups and downs. Got plenty of grunt, good on fuel I get about 1.6km for every litre of fuel. Down side its a big chunky sounding while trolling and having to keep the oil reservoir filled is a minor hassle. At full noise its not as quiet as a 4 stroke but its bearable.
While I have been happy with the motor so fair given the opportunity again I would probably go for a 4 stroke motor either a suzk or yammy in the same size.

Re: OptiMax 200 advice
Hi, i have recently bought a boat with a 200 optimax, its on a 6.2 centre cab Noble but still does 70 kpms WOT, it is noise especially at low speed but once it hits about 40 kms it sounds sweet. heaps more torque than a 4 stroke slides out of the hole with ease and the curve doesnt flatten out at high revs, obviously the oil cost is a consideration. i get about 1.5 km per litre on flat water at 45 ish kmph but this drops to about 1.2 kmpl in a bit of weather
