I use a long slow lift off the bottom. Works best in deep water. Have found that most strikes are just after the top of the lift as they start to drop.
You can also just burn them in fast. Found that out after an errant cast and was just cranking back in to the boat.
Cheers

You tube barra on soft vibes. They go through every retrieve. But in the end tge moral of the story is mix it up and continue with whatever you are getting strikes on.

Sarge got a 95 in shoal bay after he stopped retrieving and put his rod down - lucky I saw the strike and picked it up !
