Chirp modules

Post by fff1964 »

Anyone fitted or looked at fitting the CHIRP modules to thier Gen 2's.

I have a Gen 1 HDS 8 reading from a Gen 2 HDS 7 which wors well.
Thinking of hooking up a CHIRP module to the gen2 .

Any one tried the Chirp unit or have any thoughts on this?

Cheers

Isn't the SonarHub needed for CHIRP around 800 bucks?

Using a simrad nss12 touch and definitely made a big difference I would normally see just a red cloud if it was bait now I see individual fish I'll take some better pics soon heading to the box for 10 days but here is a pic of a lone fish I spotted in the Harbour

I have a Raymarine CHIRP sounder. No second guessing, if there's nothing on the sounder, move on.Can identify most fish as it shows the swim bladder and length of actual fish.so for example you can tell the difference from a Jew to a bl..dy shark.
Even shows bait balls as individual fish...

Makes it easy fishing with Ray;-)
