Buff creek - Australia Day - land based

Post by alfie »

Decided to give buff creek a crack yesterday, as hadn't been there for a long while.
Arrive at 1500hrs with plans to fish the rock bar from the low, for the run in.
Few people were already there so decided to head 500mtrs (sand bar) left of the ramp.
Brother had no trouble catching 10 or so nice sized barra pops (mullets)
Threw out a couple of livies out to soak, which the crabs attacked.
Flicked a few different lures up and down the channel for zip.
There is a fallen tree about 100mtrs or so left of the ramp which looked good but returned nothing.
About 20 or people around and saw one little cod landed, no one else landed a thing.
Water was not that dirty, surprisingly and even the sand seemed clean.
Left at 2000hrs and gave the livies to the fella next to us, hope h did well.
No boofs heard the whole time.
Lots of prawns on the run in.

Jeffish - It is a great place to wet a line. I still remember as a kid, back in the late 80's early 90's riding my bike there with a group of school mates and fishing of the rock bar.

Matt - Really hoping my luck will change for the better. Was hoping to land a legal sized baz for January but all I've managed is a rat is my 3 attempts so far.

Seano - Noted and cheers for info. Live in Palmy, so don't often go out that way. Will give it ago when the rain does stop and it comfortable enough to head over to shoal bay, with my tinny.

Cheers
