New lure catchesBarra from the harbour.

Post by Scamper »

Went out on Saturday, up a harbour arm for a lock in.
No bait was found in this creek, only a few garfish, but we weren't worried as planned to use some new lures.
My son inlaw lent me his new rod, a G loomis ( my daughter married well) with a hand made lure from a friend of his.

It proved it was worth the goods with 2 harbour barra, and 1 missed.
First barra for the year.

Thanks JF, steering working a treat.
I'll get to borrow the lure any time I want.
Don't know who makes them, some fellow in the Northern Suburbs.

Well done Scamper.....bastard  . I went out with him in his boat and just got to net his two barra. Generous bloke though  , he gave me the smaller 63 cm one and he had the 65 Cm model. They had black tails and didn't put up much fight. Still big push of fresh coming down made it hard fishing/boating all round. better when you catch some I suppose. All i caught was a giant Powertail :| and netted (just garfish bait!!) in cast net.
