There is a slight increased risk of schizophrenia, probably in vulnerable people. Seen it happen to one person who smoked heaps of pot. I've seen far more people go psycho on grog, admittedly though only while they are drinking.

On the other hand, cannabis has a huge range of benefits for sick people ...

increases appetite
decreases pain
helps with sleep
decreases anxiety

Now they are finding neurological benefits ...

helps people with some types of seizures
may help cure brain cancer
may reduce neuro inflammation (vaguely remember reading that somewhere)

Also can use cannabis fibres to make clothes and a host of other things, and I don't believe it is a demanding crop like cotton.

Should be compulsory for farmers to grow the stuff! The law is an ass.

And no, I am not a pothead.

Psychomotor impairment
Cognitive impairment
Anxiety/panic
Acute psychosis
Aggravation of schizophrenia
Association with polydrug abuse
Respiratory and cardiovascular health risks
Decreased sperm count
Increased birth complications
Neonatal risks
Dependence

And I think hemp will make clothes and other things.

I'm not against cannabis, I think some of the ways it's used is the problem.

Like every thing, it probably has it's good and it's bad. Problem is it becomes a dependency on many people and that is usually when problems occur. Every thing in moderation has its benefits but every thing in excess becomes toxic.
