Glad you cleared that up .17 v .177
I used to make a dollar or two shooting fox with a .17
Not a good choice for bunnies at close range with houses around

Matt, I've got a Gamo .177. Used it around the block a bit, very accurate. But, I reckon it is noisier then my .22. The winchester Z's are very quiet. Don't worry about lead in the vege patch, just don't aim to miss!

I think lead in ya vegie patch is pretty low on the risk scale. Think of all the sinkers and lures youve handled over the years.

Yes, chewed a few split shot and waterfowl shot in my time - that's why I don't want to eat any more!

Plus thinking of the kids.

Yes, it's low risk but I expect there is already a motherlode of bullets in the garden.

And they could probably mine the pastures in 50 years time :)

Non toxic is good for knocking over eating chooks too, funny how they won't come near you when you have sinister intentions

Gamo looks good but I reckon you are right about subsonics being quieter.

Head shoot them? I tried. The little chicken heads bob up and down constantly!

Let me know, I'll drop 'round over the christmas school holidays with a boot load of little rifles to sort your bunnies out.
