The United service station owner in Katherine dropped his prices right down after the fuel inquiry, he didn't want to be shafting his customers.

Way back years ago when United came to Katherine & started discounting fuel, it caused a stir which kept fuel prices lower than Darwin (Shell & BP in town did the same much to their angst).
Smart truckies fuel up here enroute to Darwin & refuel here before heading south for the few cents difference.

I always left my boat and car as empty as possible when on route to the Roper and fueled in Katherine. Saved carrying weight for 350km and a few cents a litre to fill up. The savings added up when loading 500 litres into car and boat.

OPEC has not been able to agree to cut production and oil has now fallen below US$70.

Have pump prices fallen yet? Or are Australian boaters and motorists still getting the pineapple?

We will always get the Pinapple but at least it isn't getting reamed as far in at the moment.

Just goes to show you can't predict anything ... who would thunk the price of oil could ever plummet .... http://www.news.com.au/finance/economy/ ... 7154263600

Good time to buy a 300hp Yamaha!

Yep and because of it lots of rigs are being stacked. Looking more likely that I am going to be made redundant
