)Matt's Great Wall post reminded me -)
A cow tried to eat my Prado about 6 weeks ago, both cow and vehicle came out the worst. As a result the Prado has been retired and in a quirk (because its replacement is the same model) has become a spare part source for the new one. It was 12 years old and had just over 306,000ks on the clock. Plenty of those ks were towing one thing or another and plenty were done off the tar.
A few pics of its career

Looks like it had a good innings. 306k without a bulbar is a good effort!

Yes it was a death in action. pic of the cow below. Skid marks were 52 metres, we all did it together for just over 40 of them. Pea gravel on the crossing and travelling heavy meant we weren't going to pull up for a while. Beast was one of five or six that bolted out of the trees on the crossing. Incidentally except for the radiator stuffed the vehicle drives and steers like there's nothing wrong, all mostly panel damage.Matt Flynn wrote:Died a warrior's death!

Crikey! Could have ended a lot worse.
Seems to be bad for it around the NT/WA border. Came across a fresh one out that way years ago, two dead bests 100m apart and a sedan that was a mess, with quite a few empty beer cans inside. Dunno where the occupants went but there was no blood.
Down the track towards SA border seems to be worst for roos.

Glad you came out of it without any injuries . Great shot of the cow , car and 50m of skid marks.
Bet you are glad your were driving a Toyota and not one of the other brand which keeps popping up on all the new 4 wd topics.

'bout the size of it. Incidentally that great big rubbery plastic bumper bar that took the full load just popped back out straight again. ended up cracked but reckon it folding up took most of the brunt. From the drivers perspective I barely felt it. All the cr.p I had on the passengers seat stayed put. Have hit worse feeling bumps in my time.balou wrote:
