Friend of mine got the opportunity to explore a newly accessed PNG river with Jason Yip.
138 black bass and 132 barra.
Bluey's biggest was 40 lbs.
Also got pix of the local fishing inspectors patrolling their river.

Re: New PNG river exploration
G'day NBN
Don't know yet how long.
I see Gagey's friend got a 50lber that went 1 metre so Bluey's was probably mid-90s.
Apparently they explored 3 river systems so not sure if the photos and scorecard only covered the first one or all 3.
There are 12-15 photos of some monster bass and some good barra. Bluey reckons they all got smoked by bass over the 40 mark but 40 was the largest that they managed to get in.
Apparently its in a wetlands area which stretches for about 50km along the river.

Re: New PNG river exploration
Gotta do this éh!
Don't care about cost but got to cross black bass off bucket list.
Black bass usually found in brackish water with spot-tails usually in fresh.
Where Bluey went was long way upstream so go figure.
Apparently villagers have not seen tourists since 1977 and river never seen a lure.
