Some time to waste ,and fish Kununurra!
I've been in a new job since April working at Argyle Diamond Mine at Kununurra.2 weeks on 2 weeks off.
To do this i have to fly into Kununurra, arriving at 10 am on a monday morning and have to wait there for the 4 pm bus to Argyle.....
This is not an ideal situation so I have compromised.
I now hire a car and go looking for a land based Bazza!!
Now I haven't had too much success thru the last few months but i have seen some nice haunts.
Besides Ivanhoe Crossing ,i have fished the Dunham just off the hwy,the bottom of the diversion dam and ...another spot.First pick will give it away to those in the know
I have caught barra at all but mainly rats..
Yesterday I lobbed at another spot and within 20 minutes had caught 2 high 70's and busted off on a slightly larger model.
All on different soft plastics. A squidgy mongrel,a gulp and a Vibe in the mighty Sydney Swans colours
After that only a few taps and it was all over..
Didn't have a brag mat or a paper for a Seadogs upgrade!!
I have put some masking tape on my rod at 55cm so some of these pics may give you a good idea of their size.
I had to briefly place the first fish on the rock for a pic as I was wary of getting down near the edge, but he swam away strongly!
I'm coming home early to watch the GF at home but will back there next monday.

Some great looking spots down along there

If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!
Especially when you can see them!

Hi tere,
Good fish Sy!
And good use of your time!
When I go land based by myself, I cary a sewing measuring tape, it s light, fit in a pants pocket and I can measure my fish.
And as a kid overseas, I had a few marks with tape on my fishing rod, so I could know if my fishes of different species were of legal size.
Your pics reminded of that.
...
Thanks for making me feel so old now!
Have a good day,
Pecheur

Good fish mate, nice spot there too. Seen a nice size croc floating around there when we were there in July! Recon they have more crocs than territory.....or at least more inquisitive crocs.
