Wouldn't be a bad buy really for the money, if it's just that crease I don't know why they would write it off surely could be fixed considering the original cost of the boat.

I wonder if a boat hull is like a car.. Insurance wise....??

If a hull is written off... Can be insured again??

Be hard to prove to an insurance company if there's no H.I.N..?
Just fix the damage and off ya go..!?

Cars can be fixed but you have to jump through some hoops, no idea about boats, still would have a hin though

It will have been a technical write off, you could probably buy it under a repairable write off title. The cost of sending it down south to the factory, cutting the side sheet off, replacing it, repainting it, re-transporting it back up would have been huge.
Couple answers to questions

-Defently fixable, have you got the depth in your pockets?
-Yes you could just use it, but it's had impact damage to the extent that it was written off. Would you take it off shore? Make a good river boat, less distance to swim.
-Yes it would have a HIN, has to by law.
-Someone may insure it again, but you would need proof that it has been repaired to OME specs an that would have to be submitted to the insurance company and they would probably want an independent inspection to verify this.
-Hey if you got it for $1k it would be worth owning, don't worry about insurance, get it inspected by a reputable marine joint and repaired where needed. Trailer, electrics, s/h engine, on the water for sub $10k

Cheers
