Tagging records for Roper and Daly rivers - 2012 and 2013

Post by ronje »

Hello

You fellas might be able to make some use of these. We tagged approx 1000 barra in the Roper River in 2012 and 2013. A few were also tagged in the Daly in 2013.

AFANT and Fisheries NT have these records.

Didn't have a reference index with us in 2012. Got Bill Sawynock to make one up with AFANT's name on it for future use. (X5 is Blackfellow Ck/Barramundi Ck area)

I can be PMd with any queries.

Great job Ron, hopefully a few tagged fish will show up in future. What's the latest after the big flood on the Fitzroy a while back - was it really zero recruitment that year?

Thx Ron

The 80's are conspicuous by their apparent under-representation in 2013. Are you continuing this programme 2014/15?

I want to fish at X5!

Hello Cuddles

Just had some info gathering dust that would probably be useful to some up that way who would like to see a bigger picture of barra movement and growth in the Roper. Bit more info on Roper and a couple of tags in the Daly that I left out.

They're attached here.

Have given fishing in the NT away and don't anticipate going back again. I'll have another look at it again perhaps when I've done the eastern Gulf (starting with the Staaten). 1100 km closer and fewer of the hurdles associated with NT fishing.

Gave NBN wrong info too. Apologies. X5 is the Phelp River.
