What needs to be dammed is the sh@t coming out of these idiots heads
You start f@rking with the rivers and creeks you end up f@rking complete eco systems that are established in them

The past is history, the future is mystery, the moment is a gift and that's why it's called the present

We don't need more dams.
We get 1500mm rainfall per year. That's a lot of water compared to most other cities in Australia who thrive with a lot less water. I grew up in a city with around the same population as Darwin and we used to get 420mm rainfall.
Like the old saying goes, you never miss your water 'til the well runs dry.
What we need it to stop wasting water.

Some simple rules that were closely followed in Tasmania some time ago.
If it moves, shoot it
If it doesn't, push it, then shoot it.
If you can't push it, chop it down.
If it flows, dam it.

You fellas aren't seeing the opportunity created here, you could stock this new dam and start catching fat, green, impoundment fish ...

Re: Should Darwin's Elizabeth River be dammed?
I did think of that Matt but then I thought of Darwin River Dam. No fishing boating or any thing else so it would be a waist of time! I cant see why they couldnt open darwin River Dam and stock it. Make it only open to 4 strokes, have strict rubbish rules ect.Matt Flynn wrote:You fellas aren't seeing the opportunity created here, you could stock this new dam and start catching fat, green, impoundment fish ...

Ha, I was having a joke CC, substituting chrome racehorses for fat, green ones I think is a poor swap ...
I agree re Darwin River Dam, they should stock it even if fishing is not allowed, so dozens of meteries can escape into Middle Arm during floods ... and turn from green to chrome

Dont mind that idea Matt about the middle arm thing! Fishing the dam wall base would be awsome after a big wet.

he's right you could probably just trall around the bottom of the wall. plus if they stock it with fish and you cant catch em theres tonnes of tracks that you can simply use to walk to mitchell creek or banks of eliz river.

The CLP has noted the result of the FFF poll and wisely dumped the dam plan
