Queenies
Any tips for catching Queenfish. I have the location sorted but only seem to get them on livies. I have tried chrome slices and similar but while I have hits they just don't hook up? Too fast a retrieve, too slow? Are there better suited lures? Soft plastics? Cheers for any help.

Retrieve as fast as possible. The sort of bait they're after is lightning fast

Hey mate, if there are lots there and big ones, try some poppers and stick bates wound in flat out and worked erratically.
Works for me for the bigger ones
Cheers

If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!
Especially when you can see them!

Thanks Pecheur and Agent86. Tried a popper last time out but probably didn't persist enough. Think most are small to medium fish.

Queenfish are a pest. Not sure why anyone would go out of their way to catch them?
Plenty of good eating fish in the sea. Queenfish not one of them..

not everyone fishes to eat. Marlin and sailfish arent awesome to eat but people still love to chase them. Its all about the fun and queenies are hard to beat on light gear.Sacky wrote:Queenfish are a pest. Not sure why anyone would go out of their way to catch them?

That's it Brent
Nothing like a metre plus Queenie jumping round on 10lb and trying to get him in.
Even better when you see him swim past and watch him eat the lure
