2nd Trip to Shady
Well the title is a little misleading. We headed to Shady on Thursday for the 2nd o/night trip of the week and got this
We went back to Shady much earlier on Friday and shot out the front. 1 min into the troll and I hooked onto this
Julie scored a cool jump shot on the camera Not 5 mins later I scored another over 1m..... and 10 mins later onto another. The big threadys were on. I actually lost the lure on the 4th big thready because I was being cute trying to release it at the boat side without touching it. I took one last dive (still green), leader touched the boat and GOOOOONNNNEEEEEEE. I was p...ed off but didnt really matter as the next lot of big asses I put on mine and Julies also did the job
Julie's first thready. 115cm. She was stoked We ended up with 7 or 8 and kept 2.
Now for the bad news Last trip it was Julie that lost a big barra at the boat. This time it was my turn. This girl launched fully clear of the water just meters from the boat. The boat trolling past said "FARRRRK OFFFFF" 3 Runs later I had the leader knot in the guides and the hooks pulled Maybe next time. Next trips are Tue-Fri next week in the big tides. Cant wait
We stayed there for a few hours hoping it was going to come in but alas, we pulled the pin and went to the South to eventually fish for about 1hr. But from this trip we did learn a lot about the tides at Shady. They run out a lot faster than they come in. The general rule of 4.5hrs after Darwin for the run out doesnt work (well at least on neaps when I was there)We went back to Shady much earlier on Friday and shot out the front. 1 min into the troll and I hooked onto this

Nice work mate, spewin about losing the big girl.
Seems you are a bit of a celebrity.... I've seen your pic 4 or 5 times today all over the net haha.
Maybe I should be doing a bit more work and less time on the computer hey.
Coastal creeks on the big tides?

Beautiful fish Lats...I am yet to catch a thread...sure wouldn't mind a 115 specimen either!!
I'm also down to Shady for the rising springs this coming week...
Praying for a Sherminator moment..."it was just my time"...
I will definitely do a post on return - hopefully with some nice girls in the pics

Awesome fish Lats.
With Shady on the neaps, did the tide coincide with 4 1/2 hours for the incoming/high?

Re: 2nd Trip to Shady
This is only rough but we work on Point Stuart being at 4m to have a good amount of water to launch and retrieve. However on the incoming tide it was at about 5m at Point Stuart and that gave the same level as 4m on the outgoing. If that makes sense. I.E. It takes longer to run in than run out. I have also added a bit of fat on that because I have to back my boat further into the water as I do not have full rollers and its too heavy to just push off the trailer
