Dampier GT's

Post by arrabmundi »

Hi All,

Pic from last weekend, one of three hooked and two landed, this is the smallest one.
The local GT action is now starting to slow but the last few months has seen some great action.
Most days I fish by myself but lure losses are high when there is no-one to drive the boat away from the reef when you're hooked up.
Good fun though.

Cheers

Jason.

Nice fish, mates on Christmas island have been getting some huge ones this year also.

At $60+ a lure that would hurt

Yes lures aren't cheap, and some days you really feel the pain.

Hi Luxus,
I use quality PE8 gear. Ripple fisher rods, stella 18,000's and 100lb Jerry Brown braid. Quality GT gear doesn't come cheap and a decent outfit will set you back $2500.

Hi Arabmundi,

Are you saying that my Uglystik would not be good enough for this?

Just kidding, great fish like always.
That must be some really cool fishing.

Have a good day,
Pecheur
