Whole Mackerel

Post by Kp NT »

All right everyone here I go, this recipe probably isn't for the really health conscious people but it sure is tasty. First I start of with a small macky around 40 or 50cm in length and I gut and gill it and wash of all the slime, then I get a length of alfoil that when folded in half is bigger than the fish you are going to cook, then slice an onion and a lemon thinly and lay them on the foil to make a bed for the mackerel. Now here comes the un healthy part get a stick of butter and cut slices and lay them down with the onion and lemon then I put the Mack on top and then lay more lemon, onion and butter on top then cover the lot with more foil and cook on the BBQ or the oven for 30 mins.

I couldn’t repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder.” - Steven Wright

"If you want to maintain a sustainable supply of fish you have to farm the fish, rather than mine them. So putting your money into fishing fleets that are going to exacerbate the problem by over-fishing is not the way to preserve the underlying asset."

Mackerel = Red Emperor/coral trout bait or cat food. yuck! IMHO but each to their own.
