BIG Spaniard on jig : Pilbara-Kimberley Bluewater

Ok some of you might remember my article in NT Mag about jigging for spaniards... well check out this brute I got off Dampier early last month. Caught on a Stella SW8000PG, Zenaq FS53-12, PE5 Daiwa Accudepth and 320g River2Sea spike jig. Current PB, and don't expect to be beating it for a while, highlight for the year for me off Dampier.

Also attached are some of the other reef ooglies we got that day.

Brad and I are off to New Caledonia in a week and a half, target fish: 100lb+ GTs. Can't wait.

Well done. That Rainbow Runner is beautiful and a great size, like a Cobia in Blue Ray Disc. How did it pull? Thanks for the post.

Estimated 35-40kg... I released it though so didn't weigh it.

Yeah the rainbow runner fought exceptionally well for it's size... closely related to yellow tail kingfish so it makes sense.
