Steaming back into Dampier last night I crossed some ground near Rankin Bank that looked worthy of a drop. The deckie didn’t get up hence the pics of just the fish.
The first drift wasn’t much chop, but the next two yielded a donkey Maori Sea perch, a Coronation Trout, Trickies, Feral Red Bass to 5kg, Paddle Tail, and some fish I had never seen before.
After the three drifts and some processing I got back on route to Port and greeted the deckie with a surprise on arrival.

Yea they are known for it but there isn’t much of it here, I think like one reported case ever. I’ve eaten Chinamen, and now Red bass and haven’t been sick!

Nah havent quit, but employed by a new company as people may know, Perkins is owned by Toll. I go back to work on the 31st next month, plenty of sneaky mission time.
