Well it's that time of the year again and the Palmerston Game Fishing Club has brought forward it's annual Shady Shootout fishing competition to coincide with the grand opening of Shady Camp!. :clap:

Entry is only $10 members, $20 non-members, kiddies are $5 and entry fees includes a free BBQ dinner :chef2:

for competitors - guests are welcome :mrgreen:

on Friday 6th Feb for the presentation at the club rooms 7pm.
So blow the dust off your rods and reels and get down to the club to fill in your entry form - available on Friday 23rd Jan or on the website now, to fish on Sunday 1st Feb.
Lines in at 0001hrs and lines out 1800hrs.
Score sheets to be in by Wed 4th Feb 1800hrs to the weighmaster. :catch:

Well we had 8 boats joined us at Shady Camp on the opening day and a there was a total of 24 competitors.
The fishing was hard - though there were some beauties to be caught!. There were some stories of hook ups and lure spitting :banghead:

and a great day was had by all :clap:

The winning fish was a 80cm barra caught at some secret spot and the winner received a lovely Daiwa 3 pce rod for his efforts proudly sponsored by Arafura Equipment Hire.
Champion angler obtained 50 points with his 55.5cm barra using 6kg monofilament line :catch:

Overall there was 4 fish recorded for scoring and they were all legal size fish :fishy:

All fish were caught and released :mrgreen:

Better luck next time and I am sure we will be back very soon!

thanks for the info miss fish, not much happenning there but at least they all enjoyed themselves
