Nice to meet you all, i'm Boris from Italy, i'm livin' in Darwin till october and i LOVE fishing here. I once rented a boat with some friends (one of 'em used to work on a fishin charter so he new where to go and what to do), we had heaps of fun, caught 2 tunas, a tuskfish, some coral trouts and some snappers, what a day! Btw.. i unfortunately don't own a boat so i have to fish landbased. So far my fav spot is Culle Bay.. i fished from the ferry jetty. Had 3 runs on pilchards> first time the bastard spit the hook after few seconds, second and third time my line got snapped big time. Never had such strong fish on the line, gave me couple of heart attacks. I saw a guy catchin good sized barras on hard plastics, and i caught 2 eels which i put on the hook hopin' for a shark I'm plannin' to go tomo morning, maybe Cullen Bay, maybe Mandora. What do you guys reckon?

Welcome FishorDie, I have a personal preference for Mandorah Jetty, however the Bureau of Meteorology are predicting:
Sunday: Southeast winds 15/25 knots, easing to 10/15 knots later in the afternoon. Seas 1 to 1.5m.
If they are right, it might be a bit unpleasant and may be worth waiting for another day to go over there. At least if you go to Stokes Hill, you can packup and head somewhere else in the lee of the wind.
Oh and by the way, just what Darwin needs; another crazy guy!!

didn't go to Mandorah.. weather was a bit too windy, indeed. Fished Cullen Bay: with lures first, than with baits but not a single bite. Saw some movement on the surface though. My friend got snapped by something really strong, he was fishing under the jetty with a pilchard. Will try again tomorrow night maybe..
