I fished in a local comp on the weekend up at Eungella Dam, we had perfect weather with glass out conditions so good it may have been too perfect. This was the first time I've been here and the place is so picturesque, it is stocked with Barra and Sootys and riddled with timber. The fishing was slow both days but I managed to get a new PB with a 45cm Sooty Grunter. These things are by far the hardest hitting fish I've ever caught, ive caught a fair few big jacks and this thing would have more than likely pulled a 60cm jack backwards. Here is a link with a report and a heap of pics. http://micksgonefishing.com/2012/07/01/ ... on-report/

The one in the pic is a Storm Smash Shad, I tried nearly everything I had without getting a look. When I tied this one on I hooked up first cast, this was the second time it's saved me when the fishing was slow but for some reason I don't think they are going to be released in Australia.
